Gift Shop
This project is meant to help the underprivileged women and empower them by enabling them to earn an income of themselves. Hence their morale, is boosted and self confidence increased.
At the time of joining the Gift Shop, most of the women have some knowledge of sewing and embroidery. They are then trained to produce the required products of high quality. Children’s clothes made by the Gift Shop are always in great demand both in Pakistan and abroad. Eid and wedding seasons are our busiest times. People travelling abroad take the children’s clothes as gifts.
The Gift Shop committee works hard to procure quality raw material. Since fabric prices are always on the rise and our workers are paid well, the prices of our finished goods have also increased a bit, however they are still less than competitive products in the market.
There are 99 workers; each one has a team of workers made up of family members and neighbors. This allows the workers to produce more finished goods and earn more money. Gift Shop feels pride in the fact that because of Behbud whole communities are getting uplifted. From July 2016- June 2017 the total number of different items produced were 76. The total number of beneficiaries of the Gift Shop were 590.
