Zakat is one of the fundamental pillars of Islam and is a mandatory duty for every Muslim who satisfies the Nisab threshold. The term ‘Nisab’ in English refers to the minimum threshold of wealth a Muslim must possess before being required to pay Zakat. It represents the minimum amount of savings or assets held for a lunar year, beyond which Zakat becomes obligatory. This is typically calculated based on specific weights of gold or silver.
Gold (22K): The Nisab for Gold (22K) is set at 7.5 tolas, which currently amounts to approximately PKR 2,145,000 in Pakistan.
Gold Price (approx.): PKR 286,000 / tola.
Silver: The Nisab for Silver is set at 52.5 tolas, which currently amounts to approximately PKR 174,458 in Pakistan.
Silver Price (approx.): PKR 3,323/ tola.
