Najma, age 35, lives in Shirin Jinnah. She is a widow with a 17-year-old partially blind son who is now studying in a special school. She came to Behbud to learn to read, referred by her mother, who works as a massi for Perween Alam. She first enrolled in the literacy class, then pursued the beautician course and got certified by the Sindh Board. After that, she joined the Block Printing course and has now been working for the past year in the Block Printing Department. She makes enough money to support herself and her son. Currently, she is living with her mom, four brothers, and their families.
